Archaeological Museum of Poros

Poros Museum

The house of former Prime Minister Alexandros Korizis is now an archeological museum displaying votive offerings and urns. Entrance fee is just €2.

The whole property was a donation of his family to the Greek State. The museum is located at the central square of Poros that also has received its name from Korizis who was the Prime Minister of Greece in 1941.

The archaeological museum of Poros hosts exhibitions in the ground and the first floor where someone can see artifacts that cover a large period of time, from the Mycenaean era to the Roman era, as well as some exhibits of Early Christian architecture. They all come from excavations in ancient Trizina, the Temple of Poseidon, and the king’s tombs in Magoula.
