Mykonos Town is built on the western edge of the island, in the middle of a large bay formed by the bays of Tourlos and Agios Stefanos in the north and by the bay of Korfos and Diakoftis in the south.

What is the architecture of Mykonos Town?

Built with the traditional Cycladic architecture, Mykonos Town enchants its visitors with its beauty, its narrow alleys, and its small white houses. One of the characteristics regarding the architecture of the Chora houses is that through their construction, the straight lines are prevailing.

Impressive churches and picturesque chapels complete the scenery of the capital. The most famous and significant structure the church of Panagia Paraportiani, which is a National Monument and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

Mykonos is famous for its market and in its narrow streets where there are many shops with souvenirs, folk art, jewelry and branded clothes, most of which are gathered in Matogiannia, the most commercial street of the island.

The settlement of Chora raises its rhythms at night, offering entertainment for all tastes, while the parties last until the morning.
