What is the "Little Venice" of Mykonos?

Perhaps the most photographed and charming area of Mykonos, "Little Venice" or "Alefkandra", is a picturesque neighborhood built on the seafront and is named after Venice due to the obvious similarity.

It is a district built in the middle of the 18th century in order to house the homes of wealthy merchants and captains. Elegant and beautiful houses with colorful windows, stairs, and wooden balconies, literally by the sea, give to the visitor the feeling of being at the famous canals of Venice.

In the evenings, hundreds of visitors gather here in order to admire one of the most beautiful sunsets in the Aegean. In addition, an equally enchanting spectacle is when the weather is bad and the waves crack on the rocks and the houses themselves.
