Wax Museum of Greek History (by Paul Vrellis)

This museums displays wax figures of heroes and events of the war of independence. Note that taking pictures is strictly prohibited.

Located 14 km away from the city of Ioannina a very interesting attraction is the Wax Museum of Pavlos Vrellis. The museum founded by the artist Pavlos Vrellis in 1983 and opened to the public in 1995, while it presents the life-work of this distinguished artist.

It is housed in a building that offers an area of 2.500 square meters and includes more than 150 statues of Greek heroes, important Greek politicians, as well as personalities who played an important role in Greek history and the progress of and the nation.

Among others, there are scenes from "Krifo Scholio" (secret school), the struggle of Independence of 1821, and the First and Second World War. All those, give the opportunity to the guest to feel closer to important moments of history.

The most important ingredient used is beeswax, while the other one is the talent of the artist that creates a remarkable result.
