It is situated in the south part of the Karpenisi, close to the ring road of the city, in the area of the road exit towards Lamia. The hill that hosts the chapel was called "Palaiokastro" (old castle) due to the traces of ancient defensive walls.
It is actually one of the few spots -if not the only one- from where the visitor can have an overview of Karpenisi. Thus, many inhabitants are used to reaching the top of the hill either by car or on foot and enjoy the view of the city.
