It is the most well-known park of Karditsa and definitely one of its trademarks. Its name is a combination of the words "stop" and "sorrow" and it provides a place for relaxation to the citizens of Karditsa.
Traditionally, all the celebrations were taking place here. Among them, the name day of St Constantine and Helen on the 21st of May, and also the name day of St Dimitrios on the 26th of October. At the end of the 19th century, the park was abandoned, while it was literally transformed into a garbage area.
One of the major issues of the city of Karditsa has always been the supply of water. Initially, the small river of the park was serving as an irrigation source for the city, but today, a series of drillings are covering the needs in the water supply.
During the ‘90s there was a massive restoration project of the park, that turned it into a modern, urban park where many inhabitants are used to visiting and enjoying.
