Rentina is a mountainous village of the Agrafa region, at an altitude of 900 meters. It is located at the southeast end of the prefecture, 56 kilometers away from the Karditsa.
The village played an important role in the Struggle of Independence against the Turks in 1821 as well as during the Second World War.
The Museum of Resistance against the Axis describes the local history through a series of photographs, books, hand scripts as well as items from the battle and the execution fields. There is also a museum of Byzantine art in the chapel of St Serafeim that shed some light on an earlier stage of Rentina's history.
Throughout the year, there are many celebrations and festivals organized in the village, which are usually related to name days of local Saints.
