Arachova has connected its name to snow, skiing, and winter sports. The ski resort of Parnassos is one of the oldest and the most well organized of all Greece.
It started being built in 1975, while it was finished in 1976. The first part built was at the "Fterolakas" region. In 1981 it was extended with a second part to be added at "Kelaria", and seven years later, "Hermes" was the lift that connected the two parts.
The ski center includes 19 slopes, 7 ski routes, 8 connecting trails, and 3 mini beginner runs with baby lifts. For adventure and fun lovers, there are trails with deep snow as well as 2 fun parks in Kellaria and Fterolaka. While the highest altitude of the resort is at 2,250m and the base is at 1,600m.
Four of the slopes of the ski center are certified by the International Ski Federation (F.I.S Homologation) for international ski competitions. It has a parking space, restaurants and cafeterias, as well as tutorial schools, and babysitting department.
