The Naval Museum of Andros was founded in 1972. The creation of such a museum in Andros was totally logical since the locals are mainly sailors.
The building that houses the museum has been donated by Demetrios Rallis in 1957. The collection of exhibits includes traditional local costumes, old charters, and insurance contracts from Andros Cooperative. There are also nautical logbooks of Andros sailors, lithographs of boats, and many more items that depict the maritime history of the island since 1750.
