Undoubtedly, Rhodes is one of the most cosmopolitan tourist destinations in Greece. In fact, it is one of the few areas in the country that had tourists long before the explosion of mass tourism. This created the continuous need to provide a high level of tourism services.
When was the Casino of Rhodes built?
During the 1920s, the Italian administration (then Rhodes was under Italian occupation) saw this need. Thus, in 1924, the Grande Albergo delle Rose Hotel was built. In the turbulent years of World War II, the casino remained closed and reopened shortly afterwards.
Since 1999 the casino has been operating under new ownership and after a series of investments, it is today comparable to the level of casinos located in big capitals. Rhodes Casino has over 300 slots, on the second floor there are 34 casino boards that host Roulette, Blackjack, Poker, and Punto Banco.
Who can enter the Casino of Rhodes?
Entry is allowed, as in all Greek casinos, to visitors over 23 years old with an identity card or passport that allows them to register and obtain a casino membership card.
