Within an untouched and rocky landscape with gulfy coastline, the Environmental & Cultural Park of Paros offers a series of choices and experiences during the whole year to locals and visitors.
When was the Paros Environmental Park founded?
In an area that occupies 800 acres on a peninsula called Ai Giannis Detis, the Environmental and Cultural Park of Paros was created in 2009 by the local authorities.
What is the Environmental and Cultural Park of Paros Ai Giannis Detis?
This is a pioneering and unique park for the Cyclades, combining leisure, sports, culture, and ecology.
The rare plants of the area were endangered due to the extensive grazing, while the numerous hiking paths of the park offer to the visitor the opportunity to admire unique landscapes, but also natural "sculptures" shaped by the sea and the wind.
In the park area, there is an open-air theater of 700 seats. It is built among rocks and every year, during the summer, it hosts the "Festival in the Park", hosting a number of music concerts and theatrical performances.
Many sandy beaches, small coves with caves, and the Monastery of Ai Giannis Detis are some of the attractions of the park, where in addition to the activities, it is a place for coffee and rest. It can be accessed only by boat through regular tours from the port of Naoussa.
