Map of Thessaloniki

Urban distribution of Thessaloniki is typical as applied at the top of the bay of Thermaikos Gulf and northwest gets the freshness of the forest Kedrinou hill or otherwise Sheikh Sou. The center extends from the international exhibition center of Helexpo and the universities campus to the railway station and is highly urbanized, which creates the usual issues of traffic and air pollution. In the center are most (if not all) of the city's attractions. The center is dominated by Aristotle Square somewhere in the middle while crossing four major highways (Leoforos Nikis, Leoforos Tsimiski, Egnatia and Agiou Dimitriou St.). In the contact center with the sea is the old beach and the White Tower, the trademark landmark of the city. Above the center is the Ano Poli (Upper Town), a living example of the form of the city before the great fire of 1917 which in turn led to the urbanization of the damaged area. The area across from the train station is generally called "western districts" and includes areas such as Abelokipoi, Evosmos, Neapolis and Pavlos Melas and in addition to international exposure are the eastern districts as Triandria, Touba, Charilaou, Pilaia and Kalamaria.
