Kavala Old Aqueduct

Famous landmark which served the city with water for many centuries starting from the Roman period. Locally referred to as "Kamares".

Kavala Town Hall

An extraordinary building with a gothic revival architecture style that houses the Town Hall. It was built by a Hungarian family in 1890s.

Archaeological Site of Philippi

This city built around 360BC had important economic and strategic role to play in the expansion and development of the Macedonian Kingdom.

Kavala Castle (Fort)

The castle was built on the top of the hill where the old town of Kavala is located. It has a long history and has turned to be the city's trademark.

Saint Paul Church

Kavala's Cathedral is dedicated to St Paul who preached and converted (at Philippi - close to Kavala) the first Christian on European grounds ever.

Monastery of Panagia Eikosifoinissa

This old monastery played an important role during the Greek revolution. You will find it surrounded by forests, a long drive up the mountain.

Profitis Ilias Church

Thanks to its white colour and architecture, the Prophet Elias church has a Greek-island feel. It's built atop a rock and enjoys stunning views over the city.
