Concert Hall of Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki Experience

At the Thessaloniki Concert Hall you enjoy concerts and other high-quality performances, less often opera, and also exhibitions.

Should I go to the Concert Hall of Thessaloniki?

Thessaloniki welcomed the new millennium inaugurating the Concert Hall on January 2, 2000. It hosts electrifying Greek and classical music concerts, mind-blowing opera performances, ballet dances – including the ice type – and exhibitions. Also, do not miss the Music Library and the Museum of Musical Instruments.

When is it best to go to the Thessaloniki Concert Hall?

If in Thessaloniki for New Year’s, it is the most suitable place in town for a harmonious start of the year. Beethoven, Mozart, and other classics figure on their sheet music stands. Try to find tickets early.

How big is it?

The Hall consists of two buildings. The first one, called the M1, was designed by a team of Greek architects inspired by the city’s Eastern Roman past with red brick color. It has a large concert hall and offices.

The Japanese architect Arata Isozaki designed M2, a building of equally impressive yet contemporary architecture. It has two concert halls and a dine-in rooftop with a sea view. For non-Greeks, a hidden gem.

Where is Thessaloniki’s Concert Hall?

It is located in the eastern part of the city’s seafront, on 25th March Street (pronounced ikostis pemptis martiou). There is a private parking lot nearby, and taxis are plentiful, and it is well connected with public transportation.
