Α ski resort that usually gets good quality snow and attracts winter-sports lovers from Greece and abroad. It has three slopes.

On the north side of the peak Ali Baba at mountain Vrontou, at an altitude of 1600-1850 meters (5250-6070 feet) above the sea level, lies the ski center of Lailias. This is a small ski resort that attracts residents of Serres but also many other visitors.

Lailias ski resort is located 27 km (16.7 miles) from the city of Serres and 105 km (65 miles) from Thessaloniki. It was established in 1978 by the Mountaineering Club of Serres. Apart from the ski enthusiasts that the ski resort attracts daily, the Panhellenic Ski Association organizes here the downhill races, the endurance games a well as regional championships and other ski races.

The ski center of Lailias includes a basic track which is 1000 meters (3280 feet) long and 60 meters (197 feet) wide. While it is served by a sliding lift which can carry a total of 700 people per hour. The length of the lift is 850 meters (2788 feet) and in the last years, it expanded by 200 meters (656 feet) more. For beginners, there is also a smaller lift that is 200 meters (656 feet) long. Very close to the starting point of the tracks, there are ski rental shops and ski equipment stores, coffee and snack canteens, as well as the information desk and a First Aid Station.

The region of Lailias is characterized by its developed tourist infrastructure with hotels, restaurants, taverns, clubs, and businesses related to sports and leisure. The ski center has each year a season that expands approximately from 3.5 to 4 months, depending on the snowfall and the weather circumstances.
