Informations
Description: Olympus is famous worldwide as in ancient greek mythology it is home of the twelve gods. With a height of 2,917 meters, is the highest peak in the country and the second highest in the Balkans. It is the natural border between Macedonia and Thessaly but administratively belongs to the first. It is a destination with easy access and competitive pricing so Olympus is an ideal choice for an outing when visiting. Litochoro town is on the railway line between Athens and Thessaloniki. Olympus is the first National Park of Greece and is a protected area since 1938. As a result, nature has been left untouched and so the mountain of the gods is consider to be one of the last refuges of unspoiled nature in Europe.
