Lamia - Castle & Archaeological Museum of Lamia Castle & Archaeological Museum of Lamia
It is on the highest point of the city, on a rocky hill, with panoramic view to all prefecture of Fthiotida. It is a Medieval castle and it was built during the 5th century. Inside the castle you can visit the archaeological museum of Lamia, in a very impressive building that used to host the army of the city when Otto was king of Greece. The exhibitions of the museum show the history of the region of Fthiotida and Evritania, they have exhibits mostly from Prehistoric and Historic period and Roman times. The exhibits come from excavations of the region. The museum is open every day.
