Kavala - Old City of Kavala Old City of Kavala
If you visit Kavala one of the "must" things to do it to is to walk around the narrow streets of the old city. You can start from the Karaoli square, go up to Poulidou street, pass through Imaret and the yard of Mehmet Ali and reach the lighthouse to admire the magnificent view. You can walk towards the Castle and the old aqueduct (Kamares) that are located on the other side of the old city. During your walk you will find plenty of small tavernas specialized in fish dishes. The impressive monuments and the historic places are combined with modern buildings, creating a very interesting place to visit and walk around. All are built amphitheatrically and offer a great view to the sea, making your visit to the old part of the city an unforgettable experience.
How to get there: The best way to go to the Old City is with the train that starts from the square of Omonoia.
