Kalamata - Municipal Railway Park Municipal Railway Park
It is an open air museum, one of its kind. The museum was supposed to open its doors in 1986 but it was delayed by the big earthquake of September 1986. It finally opened in 1990 at the old "Kalamata port" of the train line, at the place were the coal sheds were, when the trains were operating with water steam. In the museum you can see old types of train lines, manual draisines and trolleys, but the main point of interest is the building that used to be the train station "Kalamata Port" that now is used as a cafeteria. Apart from the exhibits there are also basketball and volleyball courts where many people use to play their favourite sport.
