Athens - Lycabettus Hill Lycabettus Hill
Lofos Likavittou
Lycabettus is a hill in Athens in the foothills and slopes of which you can see the neighbourhood with the same name. It is considered one of the most romantic places in the whole city and definitely offers the best view of Athens. You can reach the top by walking a rather steep but nice route or take the funicular, the start of which is located in the end of Ploutarxou street. On the top you can see the great view of the city of Athens and you can find a restaurant and cafeteria and the little church of Agios Georgios (St. George). On the other side of the hill is a theatre where, during summer, many plays and concerts take place. So, it is on the same time a place for a great walk, a place of cultural events and also a place to have a great meal with a great view!
How to get there: Bus line 60, Lycabettus stop and then walking uphill or with the funicular from the end of Ploutarxou street.
